If you also:

  • feel the burn of wanderlust day and night,
  • stay ready for the next adventure, and
  • have lots of feelings

Then I see us being very, very good friends.

I want to share the world with you—the good, the bad made good, and everything in between.

Truthfully, there hasn’t ever been a time I wasn’t in love with seeing the world.

As a kid, I stayed glued to the Discovery Channel (before it sucked) and its videos of exotic locations. My family had just enough to get by, and traveling wasn’t a priority, so the TV was my porthole to the vast world I knew was outside of Fort Worth, Texas.

As a teenager, I loved books and daydreaming about other places.

Flash forward to adulthood, my suitcase was packed, and I was NYC-bound on my first ever plane ride when it happened.

One of my favorite authors, Anne Rice, says it best:

”We never truly change, only become more fully the person that we are.”

On that very first voyage, I met myself for the very first time. With each adventure, I felt myself forming, blooming, becoming.

Exploring the world- that idea that I’d been in love with my whole life, was more fulfilling than I had dreamed of.

And a new idea was tugging at my consciousness – freedom.

I knew I could never go back to the same life.

I spent an entire year traveling. From Miami to San Diego, Cabo to Reykjavik, my life became a whirl of adventures and airports.

When I returned home, I settled into my natural role as ‘that travel girl.’

I started to get comments, questions, and messages on social media like:

How do you afford to travel so often?

“I wish I could travel but I have no one to go with.”

I want to go to X, how can I plan a trip there?

I was more than happy; I was excited to give all my travel tips and recommendations to friends, family, and anyone who asked.

What happened next was the transformation of Courtney, that friend who is always traveling, into Courtney, the unofficial, unlicensed travel advisor.

And The Courtney Lux Blog was born.

Today, my blog is known for honest reviews, obscure adventures, bucket list checks, and life-changing travel hacks.

I want to show you the world is yours, and all you need to do is just go.

These are some of the places that light my soul on fire, the destinations I will always return to:
