If you’re looking for hotels in St.Thomas, chances are at least part of your brain is on the beach…let’s get all of you there!

St. Thomas is the gateway to the rest of the U.S. Virgin Islands, one of the most beautiful places Americans can visit without a passport.

When I first visited St. Thomas, I wanted to get my toes in the sand badly, but I found it difficult to cut through the clutter and pick a hotel on the Island.

I especially struggled to choose between Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook. In this post, I’ll make it easy for you so you can skip straight to the good times.

These are the 7 best hotels in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands:

Which part of St. Thomas is the Best to Stay In?

Where you’ll want to stay in St. Thomas depends on what type of vacation you’re going for.

If you want a good mix of historic downtown vibes and an island feel, I’d stay in Charlotte Amalie.

Red Hook is where you’ll need to go to catch the ferry to other islands, and it has much more of a touristy vibe, with lots of bars and food joints gathered near the ferry.

However, getting from Charlotte Amalie to Red Hook is easy, quick, and cheap via taxi or jitney.

So, if you want more of an authentic feel and to be closer to historical sites, go for Charlotte Amalie.

If you want to be closer to the ferry and tours, stay in Red Hook.
